NM Fire UL/FM Vertical Turbine Fire Pump
Fire Pump Solution for Deep Water Sources – UL/FM Approved, High Performance
NM Fire offers a complete range of Vertical Turbine Fire Pumps certified to UL/FM international standards, specifically designed for fire protection systems utilizing groundwater wells, deep tanks, reservoirs, or open water sources.
This pump series is engineered to provide stable and reliable water supply under all operating conditions, making it particularly suitable for large-scale projects such as FDI factories, shopping malls (AEON), logistics hubs, and fuel depots.
Key Technical Features
Vertical Turbine Design
- Hydraulic bowl assembly submerged in water, driver mounted above ground
- Power transmitted through long line shaft
- No suction lift limitation as with surface-mounted pumps
High Efficiency & Reliability
- Multi-stage impeller design for high pressure applications
- Optimized hydraulic performance reduces brake horsepower (BHP) consumption
- Stable operation under continuous duty conditions
International Standards
- UL Listed
- FM Approved
- Compliant with NFPA 20 and EN 12845

Advantages of NM Fire Vertical Turbine Pumps
- Efficient utilization of deep water sources / wells / underground tanks
- Lower cavitation risk compared with surface suction pumps
- Ensures continuous and reliable fire water supply
- UL/FM approval simplifies consultant and owner approval process
- Ideal for projects requiring maximum reliability
Applications
- Industrial plants (FDI factories)
- Shopping malls (AEON, Lotte, etc.)
- Logistics centers / cold storage warehouses
- Power plants / oil & gas facilities
- Fuel depots / ports / offshore facilities
When is a Vertical Turbine Pump Required?
Recommended when:
- Fire water tank is installed deep underground
- NPSH is insufficient for surface-mounted pumps
- System must operate with 100% reliability under all scenarios
Not Recommended when:
- Above-ground or shallow water tanks are available
→ In such cases, Horizontal Split Case Fire Pump is usually more economical and practical.
